Tiago Ventura is an assistant professor in computational social science at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy and a faculty member affiliated with the Massive Data Institute. Before joining Georgetown, He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at NYU’s Center for Social Media and Politics, where He remains a Faculty Research Affiliate. His research deals with substantive issues on politics and social media, focusing on topics such as content activation and propagation, misinformation, and the causal effects of social media usage on political behavior. He is primarily interested in pursuing a comparative approach to these issues, paying particular attention to Global South countries and using multi-country designs to study the intersection of social media and politics.
