Jonathan Rothbaum is a research economist in the Social, Economic, and Housing Statistics Division at the US Census Bureau. He received his Ph.D. in economics from The George Washington University in 2013. He is a labor economist researching the use of administrative data in the estimation of income, resource, and wellbeing statistics, particularly focused on measurement error, nonresponse, and imputation. He is the lead researcher on the National Experimental Wellbeing Statistics project, which uses extensive survey, decennial, administrative, and commercial data to improve estimates of income and poverty. He also researches equality of opportunity and intergenerational mobility.
