Dr. Julio Acuña earned his Ph.D. from Ohio State University and joined the University of Mississippi's Department of Economics in 2022. His research focuses on the intersection of development and labor economics, exploring the causes and consequences of development and migration. Additionally, he investigates policy-relevant issues related to institutions, violence, and human capital.
