Associate Professor of Economics, University of Milano-Bicocca
Leandro Elia is Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Milano-Bicocca. He obtained a Ph.D. in Applied Economics from University of Calabria in 2009 and a M.Sc. in Economics from Birkbeck, University of London in 2007. Over the years, He has taught and conducted research at Marche Polytechnic University, Warwick Business School, ESSCA School of Management. Before joining the academia, He worked as Research Economist at the European Commission, DG Joint Research Centre - Competence Centre on Microeconomic Evaluation. His research revolves around the following three main areas: i) civil war and post-conflict development ii) international migration iii) effectiveness of public policy. His work has been published in, among others, the American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Law and Economics, Journal of Law Economics and Organisation, World Development.
