Javaeria Qureshi

Javaeria Qureshi is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her research interests lie in education, labor, and development. She is particularly interested in the interaction of families and schools in human capital production including sibling spillover effects and how siblings indirectly affect investments through altering the information that parents and teachers have. Her work has been funded by the Spencer Foundation, the International Food Policy and Research Institute, and the UK Government’s Department for International Development. She received her BA in Economics and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her PhD in Public Policy from the University of Chicago.
