Anett John
Assistant Professor, University of Birmingham
Anett John obtained her PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics in 2014. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Birmingham, an affiliated researcher at CREST/Institut Polytechnique Paris and an invited researcher at J-PAL. Most of her research studies why people frequently fail to make profitable investments – choices with costs in the present and benefits in the future – even when standard economic barriers are minimal or absent. Applications range across many areas of life – from financial decisions to investments in one's health, human capital, business, or employment path. Past and current projects include randomized control trials in France, Morocco, Kenya, and the Philippines.
