Emily Au-Young
Founder, Reemi
Emily is the founder of Reemi, a social enterprise creating sustainable, reusable period products for women around the world. In pursuit of this mission, Reemi developed the world's first self-sterilising period underwear in 2019 made from CottonX, a natural fibre that also self-disinfects. Emily has led the team to innovate on culturally appropriate period products with local partners, and worked with the University of Munich to focus on evidence-based impact. The success of the research led Reemi to scale period products and education to 6,000 garment workers in 2022 and is currently scaling to another 12,500 people. In 2022, Emily was recently named in the Forbes 30 under 30 list in Asia for Social Impact.
