Ada González-Torres is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Economics Department at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Her main fields are in development economics and political economy. She studies how social norms and institutional environments affect development outcomes, with a focus on health and conflict, including civil violence, gender-based violence and ethnic conflict. She holds a PhD in Economics from the European University Institute in Florence, and spent the last three years of her doctorate at the University of California Berkeley as a Visiting Research Scholar. She is an invited researcher at J-PAL.
