Harshil Sahai is a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics at The University of Chicago, where he also completed his PhD in 2023 as a National Academy of Education / Spencer Dissertation Fellow and an NSF Graduate Research Fellow.
Harshil studies development and environmental economics. His recent work includes the optimal design of school voucher policies, how monsoon forecasts can reduce climate risk, and the role of social networks in enabling migration. Prior to graduate school, he was a Pre-Doctoral Fellow at the Energy Policy Institute of Chicago and completed his BA in Economics and Mathematics from Swarthmore College.
