María Adelaida Ortega is PhD candidate in Applied Economics at the University of California Davis. Her research lies in the intersection of development and labour economics with a special focus on migration within developing countries.  She has also worked as research consultant at the Inter American Development Bank, and research assistant at Universidad de los Andes and Fedesarrollo in Bogotá, Colombia.
