
Janina Steinert is a PhD candidate at the University of Oxford, affiliated with the Department of Social Policy and Intervention. Her research interest lies primarily in the field of development economics, but also draws on aspects of global health and conflict research. Janina's PhD work is based on a randomized controlled trial in South Africa. In her job market paper, she evaluates the impact of a combined financial literacy and violence reduction program that was developed in collaboration with UNICEF and the World Health Organization. Janina has further worked as a short-term consultant for Save the Children, the International AIDS Alliance, the World Health Organisation, the SEEP Network, and the Oxford Microfinance Initiative.
