Jiahua Liu
PhD candidate in Public Policy, Harvard Kennedy School
Jiahua is a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate in Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School. His areas of interest are international trade and industrial organization. His research focuses on how government policy and firm-level decision affect the exporting performance of firms especially from the emerging markets. His current projects include studying the role of different forms of innovation in helping less productive firms entering the foreign markets; examining the relationship between export competition and exporters' innovation incentives; and measuring the impact of domestic protectionism on Chinese exporters’ performance. In other work he is studying the impact of access to natural resources on the growth of small and medium firms in India. Jiahua holds a BA in Mathematics and Economics from University of Virginia.
