Matthew D. Gordon

Matthew D. Gordon is an Assistant Professor at the Paris School of Economics. His research focuses on the distributional consequences of environmental policy in low-income countries using structural modelling, causal inference, and machine learning. Matthew am currently working on topics including disaster reconstruction aid, the global trade in waste materials, and the use of satellite data in environmental policy.
Matthew received his PhD from the Yale School of the Environment in 2023. Before that, he worked for the New York City Economic Development Corporation, led student trips to India, Mexico, Ecuador, and Spain, and worked as a ski instructor.
