Munawer Khwaja is a Technical Assistance Advisor in the Fiscal Affairs Department of the IMF. Prior to the IMF, he worked in the World Bank as Lead Tax Reform Specialist. He has worked on tax reform issues in a variety of settings: Senior Manager in KPMG Consulting, Senior Fellow at Harvard University's Institute for International Development, as Director Central Fiscal Authority in the UN Mission in Kosovo, and as Director Tax Policy in the Ministry of Finance of India
