Nick Tsivanidis an Assistant Professor in the Haas School of Business and the Department of Economics at the University of California at Berkeley. He is also Co-Director of the Cities Research Programme at the International Growth Centre (IGC).

He is an applied economist with primary research interests in urban and regional economics, development economics, and applied macroeconomics. His research centers on connecting theory with empirics that combine new sources of granular data with natural experiments to learn about the process of urbanization in developing countries.
