Isaac Mbiti

Isaac M. Mbiti is an Associate Professor of Public Policy and Economics at the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia. He is an affiliated researcher at BREAD, IZA, J-PAL, and NBER. He currently serves as a co-editor for the Journal of Human Resources, and a Co-Scientific Director at J-PAL Africa.
His research focuses on the development human capital in Sub-Saharan Africa, with a particular interest in the role of education policies and job training programs in improving skills and livelihoods. He received his Ph.D. in economics from Brown University.
