Bernardus Doornik

Bernardus Doornik is an economist at the Central Bank of Brazil and a visiting economist at the Bank for International Settlements, Americas Office. He graduated from the Federal University of Minas Gerais in 2003 with a BA in Business Administration, obtained his MSc degree in Finance in 2008 from the University of Brasilia, and completed his doctoral studies in Finance at CentER Graduate School – Tilburg University in 2015. His research interests include empirical banking, corporate finance, financial intermediation, labour, monetary policy, and regulation. Before joining the BIS, Bernardus was the Deputy Head of the Research Department at the Central Bank of Brazil.
