Radhika Jain

Radhika Jain is an Assistant Professor of Health Economics at University College London. Her research focuses on healthcare markets, socioeconomic inequalities in health, and health policy design in lower income countries with a focus on India. Much of her research to date has focused on government health insurance for low-income households in India, which has won the International Health Economics Association (IHEA) Adam Wagstaff Award for outstanding research on the economics of healthcare financing in lower income countries and has been cited in national policy documents in India.
She completed a doctorate in global health and economics at the Harvard School of Public Health University, a Master’s in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, an Asia Health Policy Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Stanford University, and a doctoral fellowship at the Center for Global Development. Prior to joining academia, she worked on field research on health programs in India and on the implementation of HIV programs across several countries in sub-Saharan Africa. She grew up in India, mostly in the foothills of the Himalayas.
