Land titling can have significant impacts on poverty. In this video, Sebastian Galiani (Deputy Minister, Argentinian Treasury) discusses his research on the impact of property rights on various aspects of urban poverty. He finds that holding a collateral in the form of land titles does not affect a household's credit or income. However, holding a house deeds did lead to improved housing quality, smaller families with higher health and education investments, and increased conviction in free markets.
