

Valentina Brailovskaya
Associate Director and Economist, IDinsight
Valentina Brailovskaya is an Associate Director, Economist, based in the United States.
At IDinsight, Valentina’s main role is to develop/lead/supervise technical components of policy-relevant research projects. During her 3+ year career, she developed a diverse portfolio of projects spanning healthcare delivery, social protection, education, women’s empowerment in India, Malawi, Zambia, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, and Senegal.
During her doctoral studies, Valentina focused on projects covering infrastructure and financial inclusion in Malawi. Prior to IDInsight, Valentina worked in Malawi on infrastructure and financial inclusion projects.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics with a minor in Mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a PhD in Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She is fluent in English and Russian.
