Verónica Frisancho is Chief Economist at CAF, the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean. Before joining CAF, Verónica worked for more than 10 years as a Lead Economist in the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). Verónica's research focuses on issues related to development economics, with an emphasis on education, labor markets in developing countries, gender, inclusion, and financial education. Verónica has published in various prestigious academic journals and has won several awards for her research. Verónica has a PhD in Economics from Pennsylvania State University and a bachelor's degree in Economics from the Universidad del Pacífico in Lima, Peru.
