Wes Yin

Wes Yin is an Associate Professor at UCLA's School of Public Policy and Anderson School of Management, and a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Prior to coming to UCLA, Yin served in the Obama Administration as Acting Assistant Secretary of Economic Policy at the Department of Treasury, and as Senior Economist in the White House Council of Economic Advisers. He was also an Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago and Boston University, and a Robert Wood Johnson Scholar in Health Policy at Harvard University.
He received his PhD in economics from Princeton University. Yin's research focuses broadly in the areas of health care, economic development, industrial organizations and public finance. Currently, Yin is studying a variety of topics, including US health care reform; the relationship between economic growth and the development of markets; and how information, income distribution and competition impact the delivery of health care in developed and developing countries.
