Alexander Stewart 1886 Professor of Economics and Public Affairs, Princeton University
Anne Case is the Alexander Stewart 1886 Professor of Economics and Public Affairs at Princeton University, where she is the Director of the Research Program in Development Studies. She has published extensively in the fields of development, public economics and health. Her recent work examines the effects of HIV and AIDS on health service delivery in Africa; the impact of orphanhood on children’s outcomes; social determinants of childhood health; and the impact of early life health and nutrition on health and cognitive function over the life course.
She has been the recipient (with Christina Paxson) of the Kenneth J. Arrow Award in Health Economics. She currently serves as a board member of the United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER) and as a member of the Advisory Council for the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. She is an Affiliate with the Southern Africa Labour and Development Research Unit (SALDRU) at the University of Cape Town, and a Fellow of the Econometric Society.
