Anthony Obeyesekere is a senior economist for Sri Lanka and Maldives in the Macroeconomics, Trade and Investment (MTI) Global Practice of the World Bank. Previously, he has been part of the MTI teams in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and other Pacific island economies. He also has prior experience at the Australian Department of Treasury, the New Zealand Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. He received a Masters of International and Development Economics from the Australian National University.
