Assistant Professor of Economics, University of California Santa Cruz
Brenda Samaniego de la Parra is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of California at Santa Cruz. Her research lies on the intersection of labor, macroeconomics, and development. She uses micro-level data to understand how firms and workers meet, the determinants of the types of contracts they engage in, and the impact of their joint search processes on aggregate outcomes. Recurring themes in her work are the causes and consequences of the existence of informal labor markets and search frictions in developing countries.
Brenda received a PhD in Economics from the University of Chicago in 2017.
