Ernest is at the European Central Bank since 2016, he is working in ECB Banking Supervision, with previous experience in DG-Macroprudential Policy and Financial Stability, and the European Systemic Risk Board. Ernest has also gained mobility experience in DG-Economics and DG-Research. Before joining the European Central Bank he was consultant at the World Bank on impact evaluations related to trade facilitation and private sector financial development. Ernest holds a Ph.D. in Political Economy at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland.

Minimum wage increases in China are spent rather than saved, and are not associated with increased unemployment. In households with children, a significant portion of the additional income is allocated to healthcare and education.
