

Yi Huang
Professor of Finance at Fudan University
Yi Huang is a Professor of Finance at Fudan University. Previously, he was an economist in the Research Department of the IMF and a research associate of Globalization and Monetary Policy Institution in the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Yi also has been a visiting PhD student at UC- Berkeley and a research fellow at Bank for International Settlements and the Hong Kong Institute for Monetary Research as well as the visiting positions at the London Business School and MIT Sloan School of Management. He also serves at the Council on Global Economic Imbalances at the World Economic Forum.
Yi Huang gained his Master’s degree from the China Center for Economics Research, Peking University, and his Ph.D. in International Macroeconomic and Finance from the London Business School.

Minimum wage increases in China are spent rather than saved, and are not associated with increased unemployment. In households with children, a significant portion of the additional income is allocated to healthcare and education.
