Francisco Gallego is a Full Professor in the Departments of Economics and Sustainable Development at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC-Chile), where he researches various aspects of Development Economics. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from MIT, as well as undergraduate degrees in Economics and Business and a Master’s degree in Economics from UC-Chile. His work has been published in journals such as The Review of Economic Studies, American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, The Review of Economics and Statistics, The Journal of Public Economics, The Annual Review of Economics, and The Journal of Development Economics, among others. He is also a Fellow of the Econometric Society, a Research Affiliate of J-PAL, and the Co-Scientific Director of the J-PAL LAC office.
