Jean-François Gauthier is an Assistant Professor of Applied Economics at HEC Montréal. He completed his Ph.D. in Economics at Boston College in 2022, focusing on labor, personnel, and development economics. His research examines themes such as absenteeism and productivity within firms, labor misallocation in developing economies, and the impact of minimum wage policies on automation. Jean-François has published in prominent journals, such as the Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization, and, the Journal of the European Economic Association, and has presented his work at numerous international conferences.
