Dr. Laura Derksen is an economist at the University of Toronto Rotman School of Management. Her research examines how information and social interactions impact health behavior, networks, and education, with a focus on southern Africa. Her work in global health has shown how information, appointments, and electronic medical records can increase demand for HIV care, with important implications for policy, patient welfare, and data privacy.
