Senior Labor Markets and Social Security Specialist at the IDB
Maria Victoria Fazio is a Senior Labor Markets and Social Security Specialist at the IDB, where she leads the design and supervision of Job training programs, and technical dialogue on labor markets and social security policies. He joined the IDB in 2009 to work on issues of informality, productivity, and social security reform in the Vice Presidency of Sectors and Knowledge. Since 2011 she has been working in the Labor Markets and Social Security Division, and her areas of interest focus on how to promote innovations in employability training programs, and how to improve the quality of jobs through labor and social security policies. With 23 years of experience in development issues, he previously worked at the World Bank, with a focus on poverty, education and labor market issues; in the Research Department of the International Monetary Fund on macroeconomic issues and international finance; and as a researcher at the Center for Labor and Social Distributive Studies (CEDLAS). His country experience includes: Argentina, Brazil, Bahamas, Mexico, El Salvador, Paraguay and Dominican Republic. Maria Victoria has a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Economics from the National University of La Plata.
