Alain De Janvry

Alain de Janvry is a Professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Public Policy at UC Berkeley. His area of interest is international economic development, with expertise principally in Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle-East, China, and the Indian subcontinent. His fields of work include poverty analysis, rural development, land reform, quantitative analysis of development policies, impact evaluation of social programs, technological innovations in agriculture, and the management of common property resources. He has worked with numerous international development agencies and foundations. He is a fellow of the AAEA and a member of the French Academy of Agriculture.
