Markus Poschke’s research interests are in macroeconomics broadly, in particular macro-development and structural change, inequality, labor markets, and firm dynamics and entrepreneurship. His work often focusses on heterogeneity and its consequences. To do so, he uses quantitative macroeconomic models and large administrative datasets and survey data.
Markus Poschke is a Professor and William Dawson Scholar in the Department of Economics at McGill University, Montreal. He received his PhD from the European University Institute (EUI), Florence. In 2018, he received the Bank of Canada's Governor's Award. He has published numerous academic articles in leading journals, including the American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics, the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Economic Journal, and Theoretical Economics.
