Sebastian Montaño is a PhD candidate in Economics at the University of Maryland. His research utilizes modern econometric techniques, quasi-experimental variation, and administrative data to explore topics in labor economics, the economics of education, and household finance. Currently, he is investigating how wage increases affect workers' financial outcomes and their families' labor supply decisions. He holds an MS in Economics from Universidad de Los Andes and a BA in Political Science from Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
