Yoonyoung (Yoon) Cho

Yoonyoung (Yoon) Cho is a labor economist at the Social Protection and Jobs Global Practice in the World Bank. Yoon has been working on issues related to human capital, jobs, and labor market and skills programs, particularly focusing on the poor and vulnerable. She has worked in several countries across multiple regions. She is currently based in the Philippines, and is leading the Bank’s engagement on social protection and COVID-19 response. Her work also includes analytical activities such as high frequency monitoring surveys and the Philippine jobs study. She has published papers in various peer-reviewed journals and is also actively serving as a peer reviewer for academic journals as well as the Bank’s knowledge products. She received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2005.
