Rob Dorrington is Professor Emeritus at the University of Cape Town, where he developed and led the Actuarial Science program and helped launch a postgraduate program in technical demography. An actuary and demographer, his research has focused on the demographic impacts of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, post-1994 census assessments, and, more recently, near-real-time analysis of SARS-CoV-2's impact on mortality and demographic projections.
